Central Fill Non-Retail Packager Process Overview

Groups of patients are transmitted to Central Fill to be processed once a week for non-retail packaging. There are 4 main steps in the process.

There are 4 main steps when transmitting Groups of patients to Central Fill for non-retail packaging.

Use the dropdowns below for more information about each step.

  1. Ensure patients, Groups, and prescriptions are set up appropriately for Central Fill. For more information, see Non-Retail Packager Prescription Setup.

  2. All Groups should be Batch processed after all re-transmissions from the previous send are completed (e.g., no refills or clarification required). For more information, see Scheduling a Batch and Completing a Batch.

  3. All prescriptions that are destined for Central Fill should appear in the Compliance Automated Packaging window.

  4. Print Drug Record Books to perform the therapeutic checks. Once done, Batch scan the Drug Record Books to attach them to the applicable prescriptions.

  4. Print Drug Record Books to perform the therapeutic checks. Once done, Batch scan the Drug Record Books to attach them to the applicable prescriptions.

  1. Transmit all Groups to Central Fill. A File Transmission Day (FTD) may be assigned to your store by Central Fill. Any changes after FTD must be fixed at the store when the compliance packages are delivered to the store. For more information, see Transmitting the Central Fill File

  2. Sign off on any transmitted narcotics, controlled, or targeted substances on PharmaClik. Central Fill cannot begin packing any compliance packages until this step is completed. For more information, see Signing for Narcotic, Controlled, Targeted Substances on PharmaClik.

  1. Transmit all Groups to Central Fill by the File Transmission Day (FTD) assigned to your store. Any changes after FTD must be fixed at the store when the compliance packages are delivered to the store. For more information, see Transmitting the Central Fill File.

  2. Sign off on any transmitted narcotics, controlled, or targeted substances on PharmaClik. Central Fill cannot begin packing any compliance packages until this step is completed. For more information, see Signing for Narcotic, Controlled, Targeted Substances on PharmaClik.

  1. Once compliance packages are received from Central Fill, reconcile the received Central Fill compliance packages using the packing slip and your printed pharmacy receipts. Sign for the receipt of narcotics, controlled, or targeted substances on PharmaClik.

  1. Mark the prescriptions as packaged from the Compliance Automated Packaging window. For more information, see Marking Compliance Packages as Packaged.

  2. Place compliance packages in the will call or delivery bin.

Allocate some time between receipt of the compliance package and the patient pick up day. This gives time for your pharmacy team to make changes in-store before compliance packages are picked up and account for any delays due to stat holidays or other unforeseen circumstances.
